Our parish has a number of different groups of people who pray together outside of Mass.
These include:

Eucharistic Adoration

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place every Tuesday and Wednesday at St John’s from 10am-12 Noon.
A roster of volunteers is organised to ensure that there will always be someone present for this special ministry of prayer and adoration.
Exposition takes place in St Francis for one hour after the 9.30am Mass every Friday.

Secular Franciscans

Secular Franciscans are part of the Franciscan Movement.
They are ordinary people trying to live a gospel life by studying the life of St. Francis of Assisi and using his example to try and live a good and useful life.
The Secular Franciscans invite everyone to meet with them and discern whether you are called by the Spirit of God to become an expression of the Gospel in the manner of St. Francis.
The group meets at 3.00pm on the third Sunday of each month at St John’s, Orewa, for a meeting which includes a time of study followed by a time of fraternity.

The Pilgrim Queen (PQ) of the Family Group:

Is a network of Catholic families united by the desire to live and share the Gospel values through the practice of praying the Rosary. Each PQ Team consists of 10 families in a community where a sacred image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is designed to visit each home for 3 days after which, she will be turned over to the next family.
