Once a popular place to retire, the Hibiscus Coast has experienced a building and population boom in recent years.
The region has 13 schools including the Catholic primary school Stella Maris opened in 2005. The Auckland Diocese hopes to open a Catholic secondary college in Silverdale in the future.

Children’s Liturgy
We have a junior children’s liturgy during the Sunday 10.30am Mass at St John’s Church, Orewa, held in the hall, and a senior liturgy for children aged 11+ (school years 7-13) held in the meeting room.
We also have a children’s liturgy during the 8.30am Mass. The liturgy helps the children to develop in their faith at an age-appropriate level.
If any parents are interested in volunteering to present the children’s liturgy sessions on a rostered basis, please contact:
